Does octane not realize this material zone exists? No matter what I do to it it makes no changes in the octane view port even when reloading manually.

nevermind I seem to have found the problem. Man...I've done so many renders too without realizing the cornea never showed up in the renders @_@

For those still wondering:

In the OcDS "Preferences" tab is a "Surfaces Material Filter".

By default the surfaces

cornea,
eyesurface,
eyebrow

are filtered.

Users who install the plugin for the first time may want to check if they really want all those surfaces filtered.
Side Note:
Those default filter settings were mainly used for V4, M4 etc and Genesis Generation 1.

For G2 it is up to your preference if you want to:

- Assign a clear cornea material to the surfaces eyereflection and cornea
- use just cornea and hide eyereflections
- use just eyereflections and hide cornea
