How to render layers to separate files (works in Cycles)?

How do you render two layers to separate files?

I used Cycles nodes in this simple experiment (please see the attached .blend), but this seems to be one of the cases where Octane doesn't recognize Cycles nodes.

So what do you do instead?

Agree. Layers are not working. Version 2.23, octane blender 2.74. What I did:
1. Install ID in octane mesh
2. Activate the octane Render Layers
So.. Steel not working render layers, or a cant unserstand how it works

You have to use Cycles for this.
