It seems smoothing is not loading correctly into IPR (can't confirm other renders...F9/F10 yet)

Can anyone duplicate this issue with the attached files?

Once loaded into IPR, I sometimes need to RELOAD the IPR scene several times to get smoothing to look correct. Using Beta 3.

It is a weird issue, it not looks like a smoothing problem. Anyway I can't reproduce it here.

Can you post or send to me the full scene with the .lws file?

If you take the textures off you'll see it's def a smoothing issue (at least on my end). Could be drivers I'm using...? 347.88 on my end...which are you using?

I'll setup a default scene and attach shortly. Again it doesn't happen every time...sometimes if it does happen I need to reload several times to get it to show correctly....if it is correct I may need to reload several times to get it to not work... FYI.

You have some ngons. Maybe Make Pole (Multiply > Subdivide > More > Make Pole) would fix this...

Nope, I can't reproduce this problem here. I am working with the 347.52 drivers here, but I don't think that this could be a drivers issue. I will try to reproduce it later in my home laptop with Windows 8.1 and your drivers.

Can you see also this problem while rendering with F9/F10?

The problem anyway can be related to the lack of the computed normals in the layout if all the viewports are set to point or wireframe only. Can you please set your viewport to shaded solid for example and try again?

I always run layout in Wireframe mode...especially now that I have Octane, no reason to run in Textured Shaded mode for me.

I cannot reproduce if I have layout in Textured Shaded Mode. If however I open scene up and never enter shaded mode I can reproduce everytime within 4-5 reloads.

I will keep an eye to see if F9/F10 ever has a problem....

Any other way to calculate normals for smoothing, rather than relying on the Textured/Shaded view?

In theory this problem was fixed long time ago (in LW 10, I think) with an internal Layout command that compute the objects normals even in vertex or wireframe mode. I am not sure why do you have this problem now, and I don't have other reports about this issue. Perhaps it is something related to your Layout configuration.

What OS and LightWave version are you using? Do you have this problem in other scenes?

While rendering with F9/F10 there is no problem at all with the normals, this problem was only related to be out of the rendering stage.
