Hey,

I'm currently struggling with the LiveDB updating. I used the command from the manual (octane.command downloadLiveDb) to update the Live DB in modo. The update starts but i get some errors, namely item.selPresetSave failed for some items. When i click them away the download continues, but crashes. Modo also becomes unresponsive and I have to restart and do everything again. Ive done that mulpiple times and on every attempt It gets a little further. I managed to finsih the update this way, but when I try and use a material I uploaded earlier, its just an empty material. I also installed the newest release of the standalone and the plugin, even redownloaded and replaced the LiveDB files manually, but to no avail. I would be grateful for any advice.

Thanks!

Hi - it looks like a problem was introduced a version or too back with the downloadLiveDb command. I will fix this in the next day or so and release the update. I will also upload the load live db preset files so you can just download those rather than going through the download process in the plugin.

Edit to the above....it appears it is actually some corrupt materials in the LiveDb causing the issue. I will investigate further and work out a resolution.

I have refreshed the LiveDb downloads available from the Modo on-line manual, so you can re-download these files and the presets should now work. Any LiveDb material with a Gradient node is now excluded from the download - since the Gradient node is not full supported by the plugin (although there is new Gradient functionality coming in the next release of the plugin). The next release of the plugin also contains changes to the "octane.command downloadLiveDb" command, so that it better handles invalid LiveDb materials.

I have found the issue with the LiveDb preset thumbnails above, and this is fixed in the next release of the plugin. I have refreshed the LiveDb download with the corrected thumbnails, so pls re-download LiveDbPreset.zip (you don't need to redownload the texturemaps).
