I've successfully imported an alembic into modo with curve data baked out of a houdini fur simulation.
Is there a way to get deforming motion blur on the rendered curves?
Also anyone know of any hair shading resources?
Thanks!

Are you trying to do this with OctaneRender for Modo, or Octane Standalone?

I'm not sure if you are trying to do this in Modo, or OctaneRender for Modo. If the later, pls refer to the manual section "Strand Hair" at http://render.otoy.com/manuals/Modo/?page_id=977. This will change shortly, when the OctaneRender for Modo plugin will be able to read the geometry directly from curves and render as triangles (rather than rendering as Octane strand hair primitives).

Sorry to be unclear Paul, I'm definitely trying to get this to work in modo.
I have the curves rendering fine.(I already saw your link) But my question is whether or not I can get the motion blur to work for the motion of the curves specifically the deformation of the strands. Modo's renderer is rendering the deformation blur of the curves, so I'm wondering if there is something I have overlooked to get the same effect in octane.

Just to state the obvious the camera and translation blur is working fine.

I see, I have to goto the standalone to render vertex blur...

For Vertex Motion blur - you need to export to Octane Standalone with the "octane.command exportAlembic" command. However, vertex motion blur will be supported by the Modo plugin soon...
