I have a problem with octane render in mayabatch:
In a simple scene (sphere with octane sun and sky) with passes, the render is active, but the image don´t write to disk. Sometimes renders fine when the passes are not of geometry, but sometimes not. I can find no logical reason and I have a complex scene to render, and I need render with passes
Any thoughts ...
Maya batch render dont work - passes

Just a sphere and a white enviorement.
Several passes activated. The IPR mayabatch works well but does not write any file, the process is active but is frozen.
It really is a problem that can not render the geometry passes.
I think it's important enough for someone to answer the support of octane. I've been using maya since version 1.0 and have two licenses octane since I was a beta. We use octane in VFX for movies and we used very often for spots being totally gotten into our workflow. We always relied on octane.
This is our web http://www.maskeline.com (we are not beginners).
Please, we need from octane to give us an answer
I use two workstation
1 workstation: Nvidia GTX 980.
1 workstation: Nvidia GTX690, Nvidia GTX780Ti, Nvidia Titan
Please, excuse me for my english

Sorry, but I hardly understand what you are trying to say here... If you mean that your IPR session does not write any files ("The IPR mayabatch works well but does not write any file") - it is not supposed to. The IPR session does not write the files by definition - otherwise it will be a huge loss in speed for supposed to be realtime session.
But the engine version used in last TEST versions of Maya plugin (that is 2.2X versions) has the known bug which can sometimes lead to final render of frame never finishes (the SPP value gets close to "max. samples" but never reaches it). So, the batch render may never finish sometimes if it stucks into some frame that can't reach the "max. samples" value...
This bug will be fixed in next TEST plugin version which is going to use the fixed version of Octane engine. I expect to publish it on Tuesday (NZ time).

You have not written anything about the plugin version you use, but I suppose it's one of the TEST versions published for testing on this forum... If so: please, never use the TEST versions of the software for important time-critical projects. This is the mistake the beginners mostly do...Maskeline wrote:we are not beginners
thank you very much for responding. The plugin version is 2.21.1.
The problem is not with the IPR, this works perfect. When I run a render with mayabatch with passes (direct reflection, sss, etc) and switch on geometry passes (shading normals, position, Material ID, etc) render freeze, does not write any file. I hope I have explained well (my English is pretty bad, sorry)
Our projects are executed with the most stable version of the plugin 2.11.1-5.6. Only believed it was important to let you know this bug for later versions.
Thanks again

You are just trying to open the batch rendering options instead of starting the batch render itself. Octane does not provide any additional options specific to batch render, as all options needed for Octane - are set in general settings and inside the scene itself.ALANCGSENIOR wrote:batch render maya octane solutions!!!

So, to start the batch render - just choose the batch render menu item itself, not the little square next to it (instead of starting the action immediately Maya opens the "options" dialog of the action when you are pressing this square).
