Hey guys, I am trying to get a sense of air and atmosphere into my scene. I have tried using fog by creating a scatter node attached to a medium in a spec material but it still feels flat.Can anyone make suggestions or point me to some good tutorials for creating atmosphere (height fog, bloom, particle clouds etc) I attached a pic of my scene, but I want it to feel more like this: http://static.e-onsoftware.com//showcas ... lease3.jpg

Hi,

if it´s about to create an image, you can do all the atmosphere in Photoshop, AfterEffects etc. There are many tutorials out there.
If you want to have it in the scene, it becomes more complex.

First of all you need to understand what happens if there is fog for example...i think also here the tutorials mentioned above can help.
It is not just to add a scatter node.
You need layer, layer, layer. Mountains which are far away, need to be less saturated.
You should create a mood, modify your colors to be in the same range, look at the picture you linked.
Also don't forget the rule of thirds. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_thirds
There are many more things but you will find them if you get into it.

Use Z-Depth Pass as channel mask and fill it with desired color. Mix & Match to taste : )

Phantom Scatter now has the CLOUD Scatter ability:

IF your system can handle it this gives quite an increase in realism.

The clouds in the sky cast shadows on your ground plane. :!:

As for the fog. I guess we have to wait until OctaneRender 3 to create anything similar as the e-on vue image you posted.

Thanks for the input guys, it sounds like Octane 3 is really gonna big a big step forward with what I need
