There is a null object called myOctaneSettings which gets exported when I do fbx export. I wouldn't mind however I use cinema4D for multiple purposes, and the game engine I'm using can't recognize these fbx files with multiple objects.
Any quickfix/setting/solution for this?

Click on the thread with the latest release number (in this case 2.22.1). And then download the plugin from the first post. You also need a matching Octane Standalone. Which since you want to test the latest development version means you will need the latest development version of Standalone. That's here at the top:
