Yes me again, beginning to think I should just give up as I need to ask so many questions.

I have a set of shaders which under Carrara's own render look quite good, I can get reflections if I use an HDRI for lighting, but under Octane they look flat and dull, I have tried changing many things in many different parts of the shader after I convert it to a Octane material and I just seem to be making matters worse :(

Should I cheat and use a jpeg in the reflection channel before I convert it, or is there something I am over looking, more than likely is.

Thats the main issue when I use something new, everything I learnt about previously goes out the window

Hi X!
For very glossy surfaces, you may experiment with the settings of "Roughness" and "Index" (both wit higher value).
You maybe use "Mix" to mix some materials. Maybe add a bit of subsurface effect.

I know your Carrara Shaders. They are marvelous.

With a bit of playing about changing the specular and roughness from their defaults to RGB colour and selecting in this case black and white as its a black hood I beleive I have something looking half way decent, will do more testing and post images later

Okay here is a quick test - strange though in Carrara when it's rendering it looks fine, in PS it looks washed out, yet when I darken it up a bit to compensate for this, the output looks too dark :/

Maybe I need to sort out PS and my samsung monitor

Already looks good!
Maybe a soft irregular bump.

think i need to up a few things, and down others :p will play more with it when I feel the urge.

Think I removed the bump that was there, from my "research" of latex it seems its extremely smooth, so I have been told by people who wear it, so not sure what to do for bump.

Really need to get monitors sorted out, both use the same profile so why it looks different in each program is beyond me, maybe i should put both on VGA as one is old monitor and not HDCP so cant use HDMI on both

You never get same colors on two monitors, even when the serial number differs by just one digit.
I've got me datacolor spyder to calibrate the monitors for same and correct colors.
