Hello again all! Hope you all are good! So, i have the model of a smartphone, and i want to make a material for the screen that simoultaneously reflects the environment and also emits light (glows). I've tried a couple of things with a mix material with one diffuse that has texture emmision on and a glossy one to catch the reflection, but it doesnt give me a really good quality. I also tried a specular material only with medium scattering but i didn't like the result either. So the best one i tried and kinda like it was to create an area light with an image texture on the distribution channel and creating another thin cube object and applying a simple specular material so that it catches the reflection from the environment and "stacked" both the area light and the cube really close to each other so it seems like a screen. I am almost sure this is a work around that i found, but the real question i have is,if there is a real proper way of doing what im asking??

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

For me, the solution with the thin specular cube and the area light is the more logical one because it respects the real structure of the screen. That's the solution i've used in this little sample:

But i'm also interested to see another solutions. :)
