im tryring to match them to be able to do alpha channels and occlusion for my animations, they never match. is there a setting that i dont know ?

i need alpha channels for sky replacements and many other things in composite, other wise i wont be able to use octane despite of its great quality, please help me .

from View->Camera Settings

choose Horizontal, and try to render again should match 99%

its still not matching, the octane lense seemst to have like much more distortion in its lense, depth, its very much better looking than mental ray , but sill cannot be simulated , see for your self please. the lcd in the middle of the shot is much larger in the mental ray version +it is all shifted in the y axis + if you look closer you will see that both lenses are reading totally deffirent lense distortion value.

the match is almost impossible.
