Hello Octane community
I'm playing with the infamous octane engine, finally. Loving it so far.
Here goes my first question:
How can I create a directional light without having a sky? Octane daylight seems to bring the sky with itself without any option to turn off the sky (and leave the light only) and adding an additional hdri environment (OctaneSky) + setting the color to black does not seem to work for me.
I've also tried checking the "Mix Sky Texture" checkbox in the DayLight Tag, which works with HDRI maps however when the environment is black this also does not seem to work.
Shortly what I need is a simple directional light on a black environment.
Directional light without a sky

dayligth + sky with rgbspectrum=(0,0,0) will give this. Check "mix sky texture".

I did actually, before. Now I realize it was about the rotation of the directional light. Below ground level rotation it's power goes to 0 - is it possible to give it a fixed intensity/power and use it as is instead of letting the sky system set the intensity for us?
You're right, but it's a behaviour of system. But you may think to use a customised hdri map.

Okay thank you - I will look into alternative options.
