Hi,

Since the 2.21 version, I'm front of a huge time render problem.

If I don't active render passes, my render times are pretty stable from one frame to another.

If I active a few beauty passes :
Diffuse Direct
Diffuse Indirect
Reflection Direct
Reflection Indirect
Refraction
Transmission
Subsurface Scattering

>The render is the same and it's still stable.

But if I active the Info passes in the render passes (not the info channel kernel):

Shading Normals
Position
Z-Depth

> Then on random frames, the render times are going insane and appear to go on forever even though Octane has reached his sample limit. He keeps on rendering but never stop and stays stuck at the maximum sample, doing nothing
It's never on the same frame, and never on the same machine.

The max samples of the scene is 5000.
The info max samples, is by default : 128.
For one frame, calculated several times on the same machine, the render times are between 5 min and more than 80 min.

Is there somebody with this problem ?

Thanks a lot.

Thank you for this report. I will check it.
Do you have the same problem on all scenes or just on some specific scenes? If only on some of them - could you give me the scene where it is reproduceable?

It's a recurrent problem on all scenes.
There is an exemple with our actual shading.

Thanks for your help.

I've come across the same thing. It looks like it's just not signaling maya it's done sometimes. Only happens once in a while and not on specific machines or files.

The stop while rendering info passes is a problem found also in the LightWave and C4D plugins. I think that it is a bug in Octane that should be fixed in the next release.

Yes, we're aware of this. This should be fixed in the next release (2.22).

thanks,
Thomas
