Hello everybody

I am working at the moment with a Netstor NA255NA housing for using 4 Graphic-cards...
Unfortunately the mac pro does not want to start up if there are more than two cards in the whole system...
Does anyone knows a work around without installing windows or linux ...

Thanks

martin

Don't know why the machine doesn't start up, but I had an issue with a Netstor - eventually sent it back. The Mac only seems to want to support multiple - i.e. more than two - GPUs in older version of OS X (you need to roll back as far as Mountain Lion, I think). It's a real issue for people who have upgraded their OS in the last few years.

It's a different approach but maybe one or another info will help you anyhow. http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=43439

HMMMMM.

interesting issue.
I have encountered problems with 5 cards and up only. I have 4 currently in 10.10.1

What exactly is happening? Even when i have 5 cards it would boot into OS X. the only issue was the 5th card wasn't recognised.
And that is a random issue ei. it was never the same card twice, every boot would knock off 1 random card.

PM me for a more detailed reply if you like.

I used an Amfelted GPU cluster. But have since changed to a custom made box I'm making. about 1/10 the cost of a netstor.
