Hi all,

I have the Octane standalone version which fits into my general workflow, but now I want to try to render a scene which was created in Archicad 15. I exported the model as obj, but I can't open the result in neither Octane standalone (error message: can't open x.obj) nor in Blender (gives a lot of error messages).
Is there any safe and certain way to export Archicad model into obj, which can be used in the standalone edition?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Akos. It sounds like the OBJ exporter in AC15 is not exporting in a 100% compatible way so other loaders are rejecting the file. I'm not aware of any solution for this. There is the OctaneRender for ArchiCAD plugin, which will resolve the need to go to Octane Standalone via OBJ, however it is ArchiCAD16-18 (ie. there is no current AC15 version). There is a demo version if you want to try it out.

You can export to Sketchup and then use the Sketcnup octane exporter (you can find it elsewhere on the forum)
and then you will have a correct OBJ.
