I believe this is quite important.

I export a house scene from Archicad to standalone. Then try to merge a bed OBJ. However, it is really not easy to put it into exact location I want it to be by using placement. Is there any better way doing this?

I am not using Proxy in Archicad Plugin one this one because it does not always sit on the position where you place the proxy object.

Hi Paul, any idea? Happy Australia day.

Thanks guys

Hi Scottie. It will be substantially easier to place the proxy in the ArchiCAD plugin. Get it close to the position you need - then export to OCS an you can tweak the position in Octane Standalone. In theory, you should be able to get the proxy exactly placed in the ArchiCAD plugin - although if the desired position is elevated from the floor - that might be a challenge.

Scottie - the MTL file will also be loaded in OctaneRender for ArchiCAD (when the OBJ is used as a proxy).

Thanks Paul, don't know why it is not in my case. But the standalone works well after asking me for texture path (location

Or should I put everything including the mapping in one folder?

Hi Scottie,
The mtl file must be in the smae folder as the obj.
When opening the mtl in text editor (i.e. Notepad) you can see if the tetxure images should be in a subfolder or not.

Should you not better use relative paths.. Relative to where obj is.
Whatbis your reason for absolute path?

Scottie - they should work. Do the texturemaps get loaded if you load the OBJ into Octane Standalone? Does removing the "C:" path of the absolute filename help? If not - can you send me the OBJ, MTL and texturemap file pls?
