Hey everyone,

I have a question about using a background image as "sky texture" in combination with the Octane sun:

Is there a way to use the background image without it illuminating the scene (only as background image and for reflections)? Because I get a lot of hot pixels as soon as i am using a sky texture.

Greetings :)

Hi Philipp1980

You could use the GI clamp tool which will help greatly in this situation. Should be simple fix.

Under your OctaneSky object, you can dropdown "Type" and select "Visible environment". Options will open up that allow you to set the sky to Backplate, Reflections, and Refractions, none of which will contribute to the illumination of the scene.
