I am constantly experiencing problems with displaying textures. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or it is a bug. It doesn't show texture in UV editor. I am using 3DS Max 2013 with Octane 1.2. Please have a look at attached image. Thanks!

I don't know about the 3DS Max plugin but I was having this issue in the Blender plugin. For some reason Octane does not like the default shapes created in Blender and will not properly show materials unless the objects are UV mapped.

If the objects are not UV mapped I found that it was necessary to change the material projection from Mesh UV to one of the other projections, such as Box or Cylindrical.

Simple default shapes like spheres and cubes created in Blender and either used in the Belnder Plugin or exported to stand alone Octane will not correctly display materials unless the above projections are set (or the shape is correctly UV mapped). I am having these material problems on the Mac versions; I have not yet tested it with the PC.

I do not have this problem with Cheetah 3d - simple shapes created in that program import perfectly fine in both the Blender Plugin and Octane stand alone with materials showing up normally. Likewise, simple shapes created in Blender display material projects fine in Cheetah 3d.

Can the Devs give some insight to this issue? Is the problem in the way Octane imports the objects (was happening with both OBJ's and Alembic files exported from Blender plugin) or is there something funky in the way Blender is creating these meshes?

I just did a bunch of tests on this issue last night so if the devs need any sample files I can provide them.
