I recently bought a second license so i could network render.
my slave is xp64, and is capable of 9 gpus, my master is win 7 64, capable only to 7 gpus.
the xp 64 octane license randomly does not work. Despite being properly activated, it looses activation after rebooting OR after i try to network render.
I can see on my master the slave, it says "running" but when i try to render, only my master gpus are seen. Both in ipr and f9 modes.
then, when i see my slave.... octane reports " connecting to Octane live failed " that, please correct me if i am wrong, is when the license stops working.
i have to connect to the net, and the license activates...
Network rendering not working, please help.

So, in your slave XP machine, Standalone has problems with the licensing? ... can you render a scene with Standalone in your slave machine without problems?
First thing we should try is to render without problems using the Standalone in the slave. If all works fine, you should try to network rendering using only Standalone in your workstation.
If network rendering works fine using the Standalone in your workstation, then we could try to test the LightWave plugin ... but if the Standalone has problems in the slave, or you can't network render using only the Standalone in your main computer, the LW plugin also is going to have problems.

Regarding the license issues we will reply on your other thread. Regarding network rendering: There is currently a limit of up to 12 GPUs including the local GPUs. So if a slave connects to the master and the total GPU count would go over 12 GPUs, the slave is not used for rendering. You would see a corresponding message in the log.asher wrote:I recently bought a second license so i could network render.

Thank you Abstrax and Juan!
update: Otoy team kindly fixed issue with build that loosed license after wireless usb hardware was unplugged. it was not an XP issue, the slave was loosing license after the usb was unplugged.
All working now.
Many thanks to Otoy team.
