i'm glad to publish the version 2.16.2 which is based on Octane sdk 2.16.0. Contains all changes of standalone 2.15 and 2.16.

Download is updated with 2.16.2 version. It has some fixes which have been reported by users.
- Fixes for localdb crashes and missing textures.
- Fix for back/foreground objects.
- Bug on kernel overwrite section.
- A few minor fixes done about workflow over last 2.16.1 test versions
- Fix for black environment issue on clean install

- Fstop and iso has been deprecated from camera imagers. Plugin will try to convert this parameters for old scenes.
- Reduced the brightness of the daylight environment by a factor of 0.6 for the new daylight model and 0.8 for the old model. Plugin will try to convert this parameters for old scenes.
This way there is a better match between the texture environment and the daylight environment. Or in other words: Exteriors rendered with
the default exposure settings are less overexposed than before. Older scenes will be converted automatically and should render the same.
- Performance and memory usage improvement on render instances. Removed double mesh usage by some optimisations.
As a result, it will be much faster on scene compilation and consume less vram usage for render instances.
- New options for emission texture. Cast illumination and surface brightness. These will allow to use without casting illumination.
- New parameter for side texture.
- Render region has been improved on live viewer. Now all interactive modes should work when render region activated.
- Settings are fixed to allow the changes of parameters during animation rendering.
- Fixed losing material links while switching between scenes.
- File saving for render passes, it has been fixed.
- Fixed some problems on Render queue
- Better object selection throught Live viewer interface
- Fixed lock resolution button behaviour
- New slider type like C4D's default sliders. Even it's possible to use C4D's own sliders. Please see settings->other->slider options. Select type and press "Apply" button. Changes between C4D-Octane types, needs a restart.
- Added LocalDB category to Livedb window. This is a special category. It allows to share your materials between standalone and plugins.
- Object tag. Some revisions for upcoming versin(2.20). It's related with render layer system. Currently "layerId" and "random color seed" is unfunctional. Let's keep it here.
Note about "new.c4d" or "default.c4d" usage. If you have this scene as startup which is done by old version. Please create new one with current version to avoid a warning window.
IMPORTANT INSTALL NOTES:
Due to the switch to CUDA 6.5 you will need a current graphics driver of version 344.x or higher. On Mac OSX you will need a CUDA driver of version 6.5 or higher (see http://www.nvidia.com/object/mac-driver-archive.html). The minimum supported version of Mac OS is 10.7.
Also matching version of Standalone 2.1x is highly recommended.
And remove all old plugin files before installing. Any version conflict or old drivers can cause crashes

sorry fixed the text about object tag.
I found that cast illumination is one of most usefull options.
Side texture is for mapping two different texture to front/back faces. Object tag revisions are related with upcoming object buffer system. And hopefully a little about mograph shaders.

I just installed this version. When trying to open the LiveDB via the Live Viewer, my Cinema 4D freezes. I'm on R15.
Workstation: Watercooled 4x GTX 780, 1500W Corsair AX1500i PSU, 4930K, 32 GB RAM, SSD and Cinema4D.

OK just deleted the materials from standalone, still having the same problem, it's still not opening the liveDB in C4D. What should I send to you?

try to move all to temp folder and clean here. Then try again. If it's gone try to send me this content
