When I save exr. it works fine, on the render pass I am on. But if I save a multi layer exr. It it will save all the info I am assuming because it is like 250 mb file, but when I open it in photoshop it is just one layer and it is all black..

Any thoughts? Or anything special I need to do for the multi layered exr. This workflow always worked with the modo renderer...

Thanks

Hi Cody

My understanding is that you need to purchase a multi-layer EXR reader Photoshop plugin to access these images.

Or read with http://djv.sourceforge.net/.

Thanks for this Paul.

Works great, save frame makes file by the extension used. File types can be seen in Preferences.
Turn off Color Profile.

Please forgive the noob question, I'm new to Octane. How do I enable rendering to layered exr?

Click the Save button on the Octane Viewport toolbar, and then select one of the "Multi-layer EXR" options. You might want to enable some layers with the Render Passes button on the same toolbar.
