I just bought a 2nd license to try network rendering (Master with Lightwave, one slave to help) and ... it works so well !
Very easy to setup and fast as hell !!
It's like the additionnal GPU is right in the master machine, no lag whatsoever !
Really good job !!

Good to hear :).

So there is no Render only license from OTOY ? We need to buy another standalone+plugin license ? Or is just standalone and no 2nd seat of plugin needed ?

thanks

If you want to use the native Octane network render you only need to buy a Standalone license for the render node. The native network rendering is limited to 12 GPUs, all working in the same image at the same time.

If you want to use LWSN for render animated sequences in a GPUs render farm you need a combo license (plugin+standalone) for each render node. Of course this option hasn't a GPUs limit.

Hmm not sure i fully understand.

If i buy another standalone license and put 3 more GPUs in my 2nd machine/rendersalve can i render animations over network with Octane network rendering ? I don't like LWSN/Screamernet so if i can avoid that somehow and still render animation/frames that would be nice.

thanks

Yes, you can render animations without problem with the Octane native network rendering. You only need to press F10 and all GPUs are going to be used to render each frame.

About this 12 GPU limit, is that 12GPU per license/node or all GPUs from master computer and all nodes must not exceed 12GPUs ?

You can use only 12 GPUs at the same time for rendering (local and/or remote)
