Couldn't find this in search too easily so I'll pose the question here.
I'm trying to make an Octane material that reads a Quicktime MOV file with an alpha channel already embedded. This works fairly easily in C4D materials by simply adding the video to the Alpha and Color channels in a material and setting it to animation mode and dialing in the frame range. How is this achieved with an Octane material? using the "convert C4D material" plugin for Octane doesn't give a correct result.
Thanks for any help on this.
How to create an alpha matte animated material?

I never tried using any video formats on materials - because I have always assumed that image sequences were the only option in Octane... So if this were the case, you would need to make image sequences of both your color and alpha. AE should be able take your QT and allow you export the two separate sequences. Maybe try that?...

I'm pretty new to Octane. What channels would these go in for it to work properly just like it does in C4D materials? I'm not getting successful results after trying several options but I'm certain I'm just doing it wrong.FrankPooleFloating wrote:I never tried using any video formats on materials - because I have always assumed that image sequences were the only option in Octane... Hi,
Welcome. But you are looking to wrong forum. Please follow C4D forum. My advice is to check sample scenes, manual and some videos. Even it's not enough follow commercial training set. You can find links in 2.14 release topic.
Plugin is not supporting video formats. You should go with image sequences. Check "mode" parameter in imagetexture and use octane materials.
