The beard is working fine, but his hair length is wrong. I've tried this many times, both on Mac and Windows. The length sometimes changes. About one in ten times the length actually comes out correct. Sometimes the hair is only about one millimeter long!
LW render: length is correct
Octane render: length is short

Do you have this problem with the F9/F10 rendering or only in the IPR?
If the problem is only in the IPR perhaps there are problems with the hair geometry out of the rendering context, but if you have this problem rendering with F9 then we can have a bug in the FiberFX API.
If you are rendering sequences in "update scene" mode, remember to enable the "Update FiberFX" option if the hair is animated.

This is F9. There is no animation, this is just a test scene.
If the bug is in the API, does that mean we have to wait for Newtek to fix it? Should one of us FogBugz it?

Don't worry, if there is a bug in the LW API I can report it myself, but perhaps the bug is in the plugin.hdace wrote:This is F9. There is no animation, this is just a test scene.

I am going to need a scene with this problem to test it here, reproduce this weird behavior and find the problem ... I don't have a scene here with this problem. You can send to me the scene by email if you want.

Okay, I've emailed it to you. Thanks and good luck --Hal
