I'm totally newbie to octane and i've been hesitating a while before posting on this forum.
First because I don't speak english very well (you sure noticed, already ...) and also because I was impressed by all the awesome artwork I see here.
I'm not a CG professional like most of you seem to be, but just a 'enthusistic CG hobbyist'. I play a bit with 3D studio, a bit with blender, i've also been fooling a bit with kerkythea (well, the usual free stuff ...).
Octane is the first software that I really put money on. And I must say that the more I use it, the more i like it !
I really appreciate the intuitive interface, the 'real-time' feeling and the quality of the render i can achieve. Maybe it's a bit ressource consuming (my poor 9800GT is suffering a lot these days! I'm wating for my new 460 GTX ...) and the software is still young, not always rock steady, but the developement team seems to work hard and I'm sure that soon this baby will be a 'Number One' on the market.

So I post here my very first attempts, feel free to leave comments, critics and advices, I'm here to learn from all of you, guys.

Just a hobbyist? Dude, get out there! I can see these making nice levels for a game, and the character is interesting, too.

The model is really great, and the renders also - I especially like the second one.

But, the armor (and especially the guns) looks a little too plasticky (=cheap :D ) for my taste.

Thanks for your very encouraging comments.
But let's make things clear, I didn't do any modelling in those project. I just used Daz3D stuff from Stonemason (which are usually great, especially texture wise). I'm only responsible for the posing, the composition (made in Daz Studio 3), the choice of POV and the rendering. I also tweaked materials a bit.

@ matej : you are right, I'm gonna try to achieve a more 'metallic' look.

Yeah, very nice results. You should provide some info about the rendering time and Octane settings.
