1gb cards

how limiting are these 1 gb cards in reality? i'm not thrilled with the manufacturers of the 2 gb cards availible eg pallit,zoltec,gainward. no A tier players yet.

Depends what you're rendering. Right now I have an architectural model on my GTX 470: it is occupying 945.6MB: I wouldn't like to be operating with 1GB.

Even this full, Octane is fast!

I agree.It does depend on what you are rendering.I myself do visualisations of Furnishing products for my cleints.As such they are only using small maps and low polygon models.Hence they only take up around 200mb of my 1GB Gigabyte GTX460. even at around 2000x3000 pixels in size.so i will rarely get close to the 1GB limit.The card b the way is fantastic.

A typial sample of what i render out for my clients is attached.This was around 200mb size
