Hello!
I would like to make a Z depth render with the panoramic camera, but the result
gives not really the depth information like it should.
Is it not possible to make a Z depth render in panoramic view or is there some trick?
It seems, that the Z depth is calculated just in the forward direction.
I have a scene with the camera in the center and some objects around.
Rendering a normal panorama image and mapping it later on a sphere works fine,
but i would like to ad some 3d effects in postproduction with after effects
for what i need the z-depth map.
I'm using the demo version of the poser plugin v.2
If someone can help, would be very nice.
z depth in panorama

Hi,
If you look backwards with the panoramic camera we consider does depth values negative. You can only retain these values by saving out the render in untonemapped EXR format. If you use PNG they will be clamped to 0.
cheers,
Thomas
