I don't think you'll be able to install (driver-wise) an AMD and Nividia on the same system. There are also no guarantees that everything will be OK with Octane and CUDA on such system. (if anyone has managed to make it work, please correct me)
I would suggest you to test this setup, prior to buying, if possible.
Another option is t buy a cheap Nvidia 2xx for display.

thanks, how much difference would 2gb make over 1gb. is it a big deal? i've been looking at dual msi cyclones 1gb. if one has multiple cards octane can utilize whatever the largest cache is? or is it limited by least amount? so if i have two cards, one with 2gb and one with 1gb. how would that work???

Total available ram in Octane is the lowest value of all cards - so with 2GB & 1GB, you'll get only 1GB in Octane (every card needs a copy of the scene).
The amount of VRAM depends on your needs, but I think 1GB is a little to low, you'll probably end up wanting more, so I would get the ones with 2GB.

WDDM 1.1 makes using multiple drivers possible. Not saying it will work, but many people say Quadro and GeForce is not possible on the same system and it is.
