Octane sky renders incorrectly from v2.04.1 to v2.06.1

What happened here? I just revisited an older project (not that old though, maybe a few months) and the Octane Sky isn't rendering properly. The file i'm revisiting was created in R15, with Octane v2.04.1. Now I'm revisiting it with R16, using Octane v2.06.1. The reason I returned to this older project is because I was having problems setting up my octane sky in the first place for a new project. I just figured I was rusty since I hadn't touched Octane in a while, so I revisited an older project, but I was getting the same results! I can't get the octane sky to work properly with a gradient anymore. Below is a comparison.

R15 / Octane v2.04.1 Octane sky has a standard C4D gradient for its texture

we never supported c4d shaders on skyobjects. Maybe for next versions.

Then for the time being, what should I use for the sky object if I just want to use a gradient?

you should use any image
