Hi,
I've recenty reinstalled my system, from windows 7 x64 to windows 8.1 x64, and I'm encountering some problems...
first question, is windows 8.1 x64 supported?
I'm working with 3dsmax 2013, and your latest packages of both, either Octane Engine and 3DSMax plugin.
I see that each 3DSMax session the "Active" flag on Devices tab is unchecked, after checked it and try to open live render windows it just shows me a colored square...
Every time I try to create a new material, when I choose Octane material type, application stucks and becomes unusable.
I already tried to reinstall CUDA toolkit 6.5 bur with no effects. Still same problems, I'm not able to use it yet.
I'm using :
GPU : NVidia GTX285 (as primary and unique VGA)
CUDA Toolkit : cuda_6.5.14_windows_general_64
3D Sw : 3DSMax 2013
Ocatane Engine : OctaneRender_2_06_win64
Ocatane Plugin : 2.04
P.S. during reinstallation of Cuda Toolkit, I've uninstalled even Octane stuff, and installed again after Cuda.
Any suggestion?
Thanks
Christian

[1] What is your rendering GPU? (please don't say 285.. those aren't supported anymore)
[2] What nVidia driver are you using?
Others will need to confirm, but I'm pretty sure we don't even need/use CUDA Toolkit and only use nVidia driver. I am personally using nVidia 335.23 in Win7 x64 Pro and it is damn stable.
If you are indeed trying to use GTX 285 with Octane, you should go snag a used 580 (US$150 or so) or something (even a 460 - US$50) on Craigslist or eBay until you arrive at a more permanent setup...
