Hi,

Here´s my first finished interior rendered with Octane.

Image

Lightwave + Octane Plugin. 5K resolution, Path Tracing, 2000 samples, 2 x GTX780, 6 hours.

Anyone has tips for making a good looking translucent lamp shade?

A lot is awesome in this image, my only crit is that cardboard box. Looks very fake compared to everything else. Looks like a perfect box with bent cardbaord texture on it. And the res of the cardboard looks low.

WOW :o . About the lamp shade, you can try a specular material instead with a low value index like 1.3, low reflection amount and a high roughness ( 0.5 - 1.0 ). Maybe lower the transmission value as well a bit.
