OctaneRender™ for Blender plugin. Windows x64 version.

The bundle consists from two parts:
1. OctaneRender™ Server
2. Blender - OctaneRender™ edition.

The first part (server) should be run on the same computer as the second one. To stop the server - just right-click its icon in the tray.
After the server is run - you can start rendering (or open a rendered view) from inside Blender. Before the very first rendering you should fill in the server address (only 127.0.0.1 at the time), login and password (your license key info) to activate the server. After the first rendering the server will remember this activation info, and you will not need to enter it again.

You should use only OctaneRender materials inside Blender scenes - the plugin knows nothing about Blender specific materials and textures (about any Blender nodes, generally speaking).

FIXES AND NEW FEATURES SINCE LAST RELEASE
  • Network rendering
  • Displacement mapping
  • Hair and Fur
  • Rounded Edges
  • Random Color texture
  • Improved Sky rendering
  • Region Rendering
  • OpenSubDiv support
  • A lot of minor improvements...

After starting OctaneServer it will take some time before the LiveDB tree and LiveDB material previews will be available from Blender - as OctaneServer caches the LiveDB data from remote server right after starting. But only the materials groups tree will be re-cached every time after server start, LiveDB material preview images will be cached only once - so only the very first OctaneServer start will need some more time before LiveDB tree will be available in Blender.

users who upgrade to OctaneRender™ v2.0 can also upgrade an existing
plugin license at no additional cost to make use of an available
OctaneRender™ v2.0 plugin or receive a voucher towards the v2.0 plugin when
it’s available.

Octane 4 Blender 2.0 doesn't present in the list of available plugins, so I think that currently it can't be activated at all. :)

But, yes... the "voucher" — the "thing" that I had never seen. :)

You should find the button "Upgrade from 1.X" on the plugin's "Buy now" page.

I have an answer from the payment support team:
When you upgraded the standalone in June this year, you were eligible for a free plugin upgrade voucher. I've just checked your account for it and so far, you have not used the voucher yet. It is still stored against your account. If you are ready to upgrade the blender plugin, you can go to the upgrade page again (http://render.otoy.com/account/upgrade_license.php) and tick on the blender plugin and click 'Proceed to Payment'. Your existing voucher will then be used for this, in effect the plugin upgrade is free.
Currently at the Upgrade page I see just a message “You do not have any licenses that are upgradable” — I think we really just have to wait while 2.0 plugin will be registered in the system.

The voucher should be seen somewhere at the bottom of your user-area page...
Sorry, I don't know exactly how it works, as this is coded not by me... Just mail to Otoy support if you'll get the problems with 2.X license - they will sort it out... ;)
