Hej Folks
Ive got the following shot:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/171 ... INAL_1.mp4

(Elevator-Like vehicle hovering downwards ... camera and object are moving independently of eachother)

in render settings i got motion blur switched on
duration 0.5 (that should equal a 180 degree shutter)
on every object i got motion blur activated, vertex motion blur activated, movable proxy on
(actally i tried any combination of activated settings in object settings, even the object settings
in the octane-camera ...

I do get motion blur ... its clearly visible ... but it doesn`t seem right ... cause
it still flickers around some edges ...

can somebody help me out with this? I seem to do something wrong here ;-)
Thanx in advance

and ...yeah, let me say this ... even with all the bugs and problems ... octane is easy the most
awesome renderer i ever used ;-) Arnold might be better, Vray might be better, Renderman might be better ...
but nothing is as lightning fast as octane ... Thanx a lot, guys!

You should set motion blur duration to 1.0. It means 1 frame duration. In this case the motion will be smooth.

Thanx 4 ya Quick help karba. Its still flickering a Bit, but Its much better than before... So does that mean, that a 1 frame motion blur equals a 180 degree shutter angle?

I have no idea what 180 degree shutter angle is.
1 frame means duration of frame. If you set 30 frames per second, so frame duration is 1/30 of sec or 0.03333 of sec.

My first Post. Yay.
@Karba Some people like to setup their motionblur the old way. This explains it pretty good:
On 24 fps

180° = 1/48 frame duration, 360° = 1/24 frame duration
