Hi I'm working in a image with a swimming pool, and I have a problem with the reflected caustics... How I can get a clean refletion of the caustics?
The water has a displacement map, and this image has reached more than 10000 samples. Any ideas?

Set hot_pixel to 0. And try setting GI_clamp lower. And increase caustic_blur.

I wonder about hotpixel removal. What's the bad side of setting it to zero? I.e.: why would I not always do that?

I can make the render a little blurry if you have not rendered enough samples. I leave it at 1, then reduce to the mount required to remove fireflys if there are any.

Thank you .... where does "enough" start? Or is that highly depending on the scene?

"enough" = scene is completely rendered but there are some fireflys. I'm sure the pro's would have some tricks for working this out in a better way.

Have you considered putting that rock retaining wall texture into the displacement map pin?

Sure ...it´s slow but, with the same Smples/pxls more cleaner that pathtracing,(sobretodo con caustics y specular reflections)...another thing is...sorry if I´m wrong, for the moment you can´t use the "importance sampling check button" (it's a shame)in the HDRI map when you mix the octane sun system with a HDRI environment MAP.
