Those buttons on top of the IPR window ie: Full Upd, Fix Asp, Mat Upd, is there any way the IPR can remember the state of each of these buttons, perhaps saving it into the scene file or render target?. The current behaviour is they all revert to unselected on a fresh scene or when loading an existing scene.

For example if want Mat Upd to always be ON every time I load a specific scene. Even if I could just change the default state globally (either on or off), this would be a good thing.

I will try to add this feature in the near future.

While you are at that Juan is there a way we could get auto update for DOF ? Currently we need to hit Redraw button every time when we change Aperture value - maybe to make Redraw button also fully ON if we wish so it refreshes constantly :).

thanks

Here change the Aperture value works fine with the IPR. Are you sure that change this value doesn't update the IPR? ... perhaps you have a node linked to the aperture input.

The problem is that it is not easy (or even impossible) to track the changes in the LW native nodes. Anyway I will try to make possible the automatic update of the render target when there are changes in the non Octane nodes.

This is a Lightwave problem and has nothing to do with Octane.

When editing things tied to nodes or the graph editor, if Studio Live is not enabled the changes you make in the 3d opengl viewport (which includes Octane) will not update any constraints or channel-following properties in real time. You either have to press the left/right arrow key once, use IKBooster, or enable studio live in order to make the screen update.

Also, enabling "FSPE" in the general preferences dialogue will force layout to update constraint setups in the 3d viewport that originate from the graph and node editors. It can de-stabilize larger scenes and it essentially breaks some features of Lightwave (any plugin or function that refreshes the viewport a lot), however so use it with caution like Studio Live.

Ryan - Sorry but NO. Neither of those workarounds work with DOf/null targeting in Octane, you always have to hit "redraw" to see it in IPR of octane.

Also if ouo use Studio Live toggle Octane will just refresh/start over afer few samples indefintely so that's not an solution at all and FSPE does nothign to help see DOF with this setup. So I knwo what you are talking about (and used StudioLive toggle for other things long ago (although as oyu knwo it slowsdown thigns prett ymuch)) that's not a solution which makes me thign there is somethign else in Octane refresh doign it differently 'coz those two things do refresh it fine with LW alone but not with LW+Octane. But I'm sure that if there is SDK trick how to solve it Juan will find it ;).
