Hi, Im thinking about switching to modo. Im focusing in stills, photo manipulation, product visualization and photorealistic stuff.
I have some experience with Octane, its very good, fast and photorealistic, really sweeet to use but Im not sure about the integration with modo and all its capabilities. So what things doesnt work? Modos renderer is also very good but its a bit confusing in the shader tree and engine configuration, also the renderer is slower and less photorealistic (still very good) but full integrated.

what do you recommend?

Since 801 Modo has nodes for shading to complement the shader tree.

I've been using Modo since 401 and for me it has been the perfect match. My areas are pretty much the same as yours. The Octane integration is very good and it's getting better all the time.

I think the main points are:

- speed
- easy setup
- photorealism

octane is good in all those 3, the worst point I think is integration, which modos renderer wins.

with new 801 and hybrid renderer I dont know which performs better. The shader tree is more easy with octane than modo.
