Hi there!

Another question regarding the export from c4d to octane standalone.

I have tried several times to export from c4 to octane using both the edit in standalone and save ocs, but when octane opens, there is nothing imported....

I've also tried to open the exported ocs with octane standalone and there is still nothing :(

Windows.

First the software asked for the .exe, than I set it like this: C:\Program Files\OTOY\OctaneRender 2.04\octane.exe

But as I told you even If I save the scene as ocs and open it in octane standalone it shows a blank document.

The c4d plugin is working 100%...just the edit in standalone and save as ocs(the file is saved but is blank) are not working.

It works as epxeced.

1. Enter the correct exe path in the Octane Settings/Other.
2. Make sure you click the resend scene information button (render) while still in Cinema 4D.
3. Go to the Octane Dialog Panel, File/Edit in Standalone. This will launch standalone automatically.
4. Once loaded, you should see a node tree - this is your scene.
5. Click/Select the bottom most node, it should read "Render Target"

You will see your scene rendering.

Hope this helps.

Thanks inlifethrill !

I was using the edit in standalone only with the octane dialog opened (no live rendering opened).

In other words you need the live window opened and the render in progress when you click edit in standalone :)

This is great :)

I've tried to get this to work quite a few times with no luck. I get the same result, empty standalone. I'm on osx c4d plugin 2.23.2 R6.2. I've pointed to the standalone app in the settings panel. I've tried resending the scene, waiting for the render to begin and then going to FILE/EDIT IN STANDALONE. Empty
I also have a semi-related issue. When I go to FILE/Export to/Standalone Scene (ocs) then enter my filename/location and hit save it will totally jack up my render view. It doesn't change anything in the c4d viewport but the live viewer is wrecked and what's exported matches.
Any suggestions would be super helpful. These issues combined have made it very hard to get any use from the standalone.
Thanks
TC
