I'm still waiting for an upgrade for my maya (2013 -> 2014) license but I would really like to be able to render some shots already. I have a license installed in 2013 but unfortunately it says there is no license when i start a 2014 batch render through the commandline.
Is there a way to activate the license for 2014 without actually running maya?

I've never had to activate the license again for new versions of Maya on a machine where it was already activated, they just pick it up, but you do have to have the matching plugin version installed. This probably isn't your problem, but because the octane for Maya installer checks to see what versions of Maya are installed, if you didn't have Maya 2014 installed when you last installed the plugin it wouldn't have installed the Maya 2014 version.

If it's a new machine Maya should run for 30 days as a demo so you should still be able to open it and activate the plugin, of course if you've gone over the 30 days that won't help. :(

Thanks for the reply.

I installed 2015 for now till the 2014 serial comes in. Should be monday. Just be careful now that I don't accidentally save the file in 2015.
