hi Paul,
This is a very interesting topic and I was wondering if a future LUA node will also work within the plugin?

"We won't do that, but we are planning to implement a generic Lua node graph, where you can hook up a Lua script, that gets evaluated every time an input changes, which would allow this and many many other things. The problem is right now we don't have time to do it, but it's definitely planned."

It would work in the plugin, too, but hold your horses, we don't have it implemented yet. For now it's only planned (like so many other things).

The current version of the Octane API has exposed some LUA functionality. However I haven't gone too deeply into how it could be used. My initial view is that it can be used to shuffle/change Octane nodes (which the plugin can do anyway), and it can be used to create procedural texturemaps (and this can already be done be creating the texturemap in Octane Standalone, saving to the LocalDb and then importing into the AC plugin (which will be possible in the next release). However it would be neat to be able to do this directly in the plugin - maybe it will be possible, maybe not. It could also be used to generate scatter data, etc - which could be cool.
