hey guys,

my poor 660ti isn't really cutting it anymore, time for an upgrade! My choices are the 780 or 780ti but my question is, is the 780ti worth the extra? Is the performance gain worth the £100 basically?

ta!

it depends what You need.

In my eyes, no. Better spend the money for 780 with 6GB - Overall it gives a better value,
pluss You'll be able to keep card longer as You will not hit limitations so fast..

interesting, didn't realise they did a 6gb version. One of my bigger hurdles so far is working on a complicated scene and running out of memory so that might be a good option. I'll look it up cheers

I had same system as yours, then I got 780 with 6gb vram. You don't know that if 3GB will be enough for you (since 780Ti has only 3Gb version)

I have a GTX 780 with 3 GB here and I really don't find the 3 GB to be a problem at all. But I let Windows run on another card so Octane can use 100% of the 3 GB if need be. In any case, I'd keep that 660ti as a secondary to run Windows and your tools on!

3GB of VRAM at this moment is not a problem at all - Phantom.
It's just that: one day you'll get extremely ambitious and will want to work on a huge scene :)

Right now you don't know when it will happen, but I assure you - it will! :)

And than, you'll regret you didn't get 6GB card when it was at affordable price.

In the US at least, the price difference between a standard 3GB 780 and it's 6GB cousin is within $50 almost. So it seems like getting double the VRAM for a little more money seems like a wise move.
