Hi all,

I try to make something I did all the time with other render software, it's to load an .exr file onto a plane to use it as a light.
In order to reach this tipe of effect : Image

It's really useful to mimic Studio Lights.

I tried to plug an Emmission texture node on a material with differents slots and setting but I get nowhere. :?

So, If someone in the solution, I'm interested. ;)

Hi wzxOctane,

You need to apply a diffuse material to the surface you wish to emit from, set the diffuse attribute to black and connect a texture emission node to the emission pin. Then create an octane rgb image texture node and load your EXR and then connect the image texture to the Efficiency or Texture pin of the emission node.

You don't really need an EXR though as you just need to control the emission of light between 0 and 1 as the power of the light is taken care of by the emission node and I think using an HDRI may just slow the render.
