Would it be possible to have the same type of projection as lw? I attached a sample mesh where its easy to texture an object with lw using Automatic Sizing. I tried different combinations with octane projection node but its not so intuitive. The rotation order also overcomplicates things. Please check tireside and tiretread surface.

Can't look at it as away from PC, but have you tried using the old colour channel, and projecting it the old way, then using the UVMAP node in octane set to 'T' channel?

This works thanks. Wonder why it says deprecated in the manual. The new projections can't do what it does.

I think Juan mentioned somewhere it's not going to be deprecated anymore :).

Yes, it is not going to be deprecated, at least until we have all it's functions in the Octane projection node. It is safe to use it.

Should be possible to create one now that we have access to LW procedurals. In fact I think someone uploaded one to the LW materials thread.

Yes there is one Carpaint material in LW materials thread but i yet have to find way how to randomize color for instances of cars. Since octane don't have gradient node like LW nodes have it's much more tricky and currently if you want definite colors of cars (instead gradients between two color) you can only get 6 colors in total with that node setup. I hope Juan will find way to make gradinet node in octane somehow :).

Hmm..I think that carpaint in lw thread is plain black not metallic or pearl.
Not sure if its possible to do something like this in octane now but its very simple setup for vray contolling base color, flakes layer, clear coat layer.
