Hi
I would have posted this in the plugin section for 3dsmax since that is the plugin I only use for octane render, but this problem persist in the standalone version to. If I provide some details of my computer can someone confirm whether this could cause the computer to crash. Here are some specifications listed, of course old cpu but still really fast gpu.
Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2180 2.00GHz
5 GB system memory
GTX 470 Graphics card
Windows 7 64 bit
PC connected to Monitor with HDMI cable
Thanks, I would be grateful if anyone could shed some light on this matter.
Can this be causing my computer to shut off?

Do you have any information on the type of crash you're experiencing?MaTtY631990 wrote:Hi

that's what I thought. If Your computer behaves nicelly on a normal load, & the crash appears when octaning =) PSU migh be the cause..looking at PC spec I'm curious what exactly PSU You're using?voon wrote:You might draw too much power from the PSU.
I had unstable RAM giving me blue screens.
How is your 5 gb RAM configured? 2+2+1 or otherwise.
You can try leave one out to exclude having one unstable.

Hi
Thanks guys for feedback. The error I get is no signal after about 5 minutes rendering and then remains like this and I have to reset or just shut down to cool it down. Here is some more information.
Corsair 600 watt PSU
4 GB + 1 GB RAM stick
I did think overload could be causing it, seems to make sense, but I thought my power supply is more than enough, surely.
Also just a note I had in the past a faster CPU (AMD Phenom II X4 940 processor and a ASUS M4A78-VM Motherboard, but these stop operating and had an extra computer to work with instead of buying a new computer. I produced a lot of my best 3d renders on the older computer and held for hours on rendering, but really what could be causing this on this current computer and is there anything I can try to reduce it and make it more stable.
Thankyou.
