yesterday i tried a demo of your wonderful software and was alongside my colleague truly amazed.... As a matter of fact, i tried it few months ago as well, but back then i was a bit "frightened" by the look of Node Inspector, all that various "float" stuff etc... i could not do s***t aside of importing geometry... though yesterday i decided to give it another go, finally grasped the basics of node system and managed to create few materials, which was stunning experience compared to other rendering software...and i have to say just WOW....in matter of minutes i created better looking image, than i ever did before in Vray...granted i am no expert at rendering, unlike many people here on this forums...anyway i do not think i will be ever capable of producing such realistically looking renders with Vray as it is possible with Octane - thanks to its unbiased nature
So we - my colleague as well - would like to purchase the license (he already ordered the 2GB GTX460

- especially we are confused with all those various versions of Octane....we can purchase BETA for 99 EURO, right? Is this beta going to lead to version 1.0, or is 1.0 already out? If we buy this beta license, are we going to get free updates up until version 2.0?
- i suppose right now, the beta 2.3 is actual version...is the geometry instancing/ using of proxies possible in this version?
- i read, that you right now you cant have both sun and hdri environment lightning the scene at same time...is it true? I am used from Vray do it this way, sun producing direct light and HDRI map as environment replacing skylight (in 3dsmax)... Is it possible to use JPG for image based lightning instead of HDRI?
- is there going to be somewhere down the road some kind of premade materials, or internet material library -something along the lines of vraymaterials.de? While it is looking i am capable of creating some basic materials myself, there might be some advanced materials, i have no idea how to create...cause my knowledge about physical properties of various materials is very limited right now....
Thanks in advance for your answers.... I apology if some of my questions have been already answered in other topics, i honestly tried to find some answers lurking through the forums, but had no luck... i have found here and there some hints about the pricing scheme, but was not clear enough for me to make any conclusion of it...
