whenever i render a Picture in Maya my Background is White/Grey. it doesn't matter what color i set in the camera (Environment/Background Color). the only way seems to be is adding a sun sky and the set the power to 0.001. weird, there must be an other way, isn't it? i just want to render sometimes scenes with a black Background, why is there always this White Color???
sincerly

Hi,
Because you are rendering in Octane you must have an Octane environment node to control the BG colour, if you don't create one then one is created as a default in the engine when you render. During the beta stage of the plugin there was quite a bit of discussion about what the default should be and also the possibility of hooking it up to the BG colour in Maya's camera environment settings but to be honest I can't remember the reasons it is how it is.
I really don't see a problem with having to create an Octane environment node, it's only one button click and in most cases you are going to need one anyway.
