Have a problem where if I enable smoothing in the diffuse material panel, I get weird patterned artefacts in my render. I have tweaked the settings I usually tweak when render / mesh errors crop up to no avail. Any idea why this is happening?

Many thanks....

Your problem is that this objects has a normal map that doesn't work fine with Octane. I am not sure if the problem is the normal map that is corrupted or if there is a bug in the plugin.

Are you using this normal map, or do you need it? ... if you set the vertex normal map to none in the fabric material (and reload the scene in the IPR) all works fine.

Works treat, thanks. I created the object in Marvelous Designer and it added the vertex map to the OBJ file. I'm using the UV texture, but not the normal vertex map, so all good.

Thanks,
Carlo
