I purchased octane on Saturday early morning, and i have been constantly waiting for the octane live account... and I am very disappointed...
No body even is replying to my emails...

, same for me. I've mailed twice for the activation code for stable version 2.2, the second time, which was today, I received an automated reply -- at least something. The information link it pointed to was not accessible for me (not authorized).

Well.. Its been one week and I have heard nothing from the octane team.. all I hear is that we are moving into a new office and we have a backlog of applications to process.. Great. Why didnt you let me know before I gave you my money..
So far I have handed over my cash, recieved no email (as advised I would) and have not recieved an activation code.. So I have scoured these forums and discovered loads of people who have paid and recieved no response.. surely for all the money they are accepting they could hire an office temp to at least answer all the emails.
OK.. So I am licensed.. That was pointed out to me by a forum member (not the octane team).. another forum member then provided me some further advice (still nothing from the octane team..). So far Octane team posted only a vague email about the issues they are soting out and some advice for new and existing customers
So in one week I have given Octane team my money, recieved no advice, asked for an activation key and recieved no advice, and had a forum member point out that I have access to the 2.3 beta version..

I sent the third mail today asking for the activation code for stable version 2.2, this time including my invoice as suggested in the news line on the homepage. This time no automated response, same as with my first mail. The second one, yesterday, got an automated response.
I cannot activate version 2.3 by all means. Slowly it also dawned on me
, that this new authentification system requires internet connection EVERY time I start Octane. I am not sure, whether I would have bought Octane being aware of this from the beginning, maybe I would have -- as the programme is really great -- but with inner resistence, heartache, if you want. For instance I refrained from buying any computer game, which requires live internet connection, so far -- no matter how great it was. Don't like dependence!

But this piracy fear, inconveniencing users for the companies security/sales, not responding personally... creates mistrust... sad to say. For me even computers and especially the software I use are NOT only about money, not even only about functionality, but also about partnership and common worldview... romantic as this may sound.
Let me add two positive notes: The new self help thread has improved. It is easier to understand now. I was especially happy to read this:

I would just ask that you be as patient as you can be, and understand that a lot is happening now, the software has developed at a phenomenal rate and the team as put in a ton of effort to get here. We certainly do care about each of our customers, as your support as been an extremely valuable aspect of our development. Keep in mind it is still Beta software (all though not for too much longer) and as such is currently being sold at a rock bottom cost for what it is. If you don't get the response you are after right away, just keep contacting us through the normal channels. Soon the system will be smoothed out and your queries and requests will start to be addressed in a more consistent and timely fashion. So again please bear with us.
