random Color Setup?

I played around with the random color texture but only found a C4D setup here which I don't understand.

I would like to give variations to vegetation. The leaves.

it only works with different objects right now, not with elements on the same object.
put a otane gradiend in texture slot, and put a random color in input of the gradient.
add desired colors to the gradient and you have your object colored randomly.

Another option that works, is in diffuse texture choose Gaussian Spectrum

In wavelength Choose Random Color Texture

Set Width to 0.05 and power to 1. (can adjust as necessary)
