How does the network rendering work with plugin?
What are the requirements? Do I need to have a licensed copy of standalone and plugin in each workstation?

looking for the same answers. It seems to me you need another license for each node which sucks.
I was expecting to have at least one free render node with each stand alone version purchased. This makes the feature not as appealing as i'd imagined it to be.

Common guys are you really going to charge for network rendering?? At least offer a reduced price Network Slave License instead of a full price License, Nobody charges full price for a slave license not even the Big Boys. And in my opinion for a renderer that is not yet full featured it just doesn't make any sense. I run a small VFX house and I am very interested in Octane, that is why I bought it. But In no way is it ready to replace Vray in our pipline. And this makes it even harder. Please open up network rendering!
Yes this has left me really disappointed
I just tried to send an animation to backburner to a render slave the has the Standalone Licensed installed. It gave me an error, as the Max plugin wasnt activited. This means i need to start a 3dsmax trial to enable rendering though backburner. And seriously why do i need to activate the Max plugin on render slaves.
For such a beautiful renderer, that is a pleasure to work in, your licensing model is really studio unfriendly, and is counter productive by hobbling animation rendering. Sure the inbuilt network rendering is good for still images, but is not suited to Animations, as this will require rendering animation locally while you are trying to work.
Ideally I would like to able to backburner render to a slave without needing to activate the max plugin. Shouldnt the standalone be enough!!
Additionally i would like to see the 1 hour between license transfers removed, to create a true float.
I urge you to rectify these issues and make more user friendly licencing.
