Hey Guys,
I just uploaded my 2014 Showreel.
All of my personal work, the antique camera and butterfly stuff, was done in Octane.
I use Cinema 4D with the Plugin from aoktar. I can't wait for 2.0!
All of the professional work was done in Maya with V-Ray. A breakdown of my tasks is located at the bottom of the video.
I am based in Frankfurt, Germany and available for freelance work. Feel free to contact me: info (at) danielahrens.net
Best,
Daniel

This is really and truly awesome. Just a quick question, wondering whether you could guide me here. Can I ask what codec to use when uploading videos to vimeo/youtube. I render out some files I do and when I upload it's look's horrible and overly compressed, much worse than the original file. Any ideas.
Thanks
Thanks

Thank you guys for the kind words!
@MaTtY
There is a really useful Vimeo compression guide on their website:
https://vimeo.com/help/compression
On the right you can also find a crap load of export tutorials for pretty much every software. I used the exact same settings listed there.
If you export it as a quicktime please keep in mind that there is a gamma bug. Your video will look a little brighter than it should. I used to be able to fix that one quite easily on windows but I couldn't fix it a 100% for this one.
There is an explanation and fix here:

Really nice work. You're truly a professional. I can only aspire to be a tenth as good as you. Applause.
